About Dr. Smith
Dr. Smith was born and raised in Central Illinois. He joined Lincoln Surgical Associates in August 2021 as a general and foregut surgeon. He works at Memorial Hospital Belleville, Memorial Hospital Shiloh, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and HSHS St. Joseph's Hospitals in Breese and Highland. Dr. Smith also serves as General Surgery Section Chief at Memorial and on the BJC Value Analysis Committee.
As a foregut surgeon, Dr. Smith uses minimally invasive procedures to treat conditions including GERD, paraesophageal hernia, hiatal hernia, gastroparesis, achalasia, jackhammer esophagus, Barrett's esophagus, gastric cancer, and refractory ulcer disease. Dr. Smith also performs upper endoscopies (EGD).
In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his family going to different parks, hiking, or visiting the zoo or science center.
