About Dr. Barnett
Dr. Barnett is originally from Belleville and joined Lincoln Surgical Associates in 2004, after he completed his surgical training at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. He is a partner of Lincoln Surgical Associates.
He is on staff at both Memorial Hospitals, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, and HSHS St. Joseph's Hospitals in Breese and Highland. Dr. Barnett has held many leadership positions, including president of the Medical Staff at Memorial Hospitals, chairman of the Surgical Services Executive Committee, and member of the Medical Staff Executive Board at Memorial. He was also awarded the Matthew B. Eisele Physician of the Year Award in 2023.
While in private practice, Dr. Barnett has helped to educate young physicians and holds a clinical faculty position with Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
Dr. Barnett is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and has earned multiple academic and surgical honors.
Away from surgery, Dr. Barnett is a husband and father to three daughters. He has many interests, including golf, gardening, and DIY home improvement.
