Surgeon Spotlight
D. Scott Crouch, MD, FACS, General & Minimally Invasive Surgeon
Born and raised in St. Louis, Dr. D. Scott Crouch continued his college and medical school education at St. Louis University and joined Lincoln Surgical Associates after completing his surgical training at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois.
After growing up in a family that owned a small business, Dr. Crouch realized at an early age that he could relate to just about anyone. “As I developed a love for math and science, started out with a degree in chemistry, and then as it progressed with an interest in medicine, it was a perfect fit. I got to relate with the people, which obviously is very important, and not give up the love for math and science,” Dr. Crouch said.
After 13 years as a general and minimally invasive surgeon with Lincoln Surgical, it’s clear Dr. Crouch chose the right career path.
“Lincoln Surgical, in my mind, is a special group in that its reputation precedes it. I knew from the moment I was taken around the hospitals by Jay Haines [founder of Lincoln Surgical Associates] when I first interviewed with the group that this was something special,” he said. “And the more I’ve been here the more I’ve realized it’s about doing things the right way, putting people first. That’s something that has been appealing to me since the beginning, and even though we’ve grown, hasn’t changed. So that’s very special with our group.”
His surgical interests include minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and he is on staff at both Memorial Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville.
Dr. Crouch is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and American Hernia Society.
