Surgeon Spotlight

Dr. Douglas B. Aach decided early on that he wanted to be in the medical field; he was accepted to a six-year medical program at the University of Missouri Kansas City at the age of 17.

Although Dr. Aach considered internal medicine, he was offered a residency with a cardiac surgeon at 19 years old. It was during this time that he realized surgery was the path for him. After completing his residency in surgery at Washington University, Dr. Aach joined Lincoln Surgical Associates in 1991.

As a general surgeon, Dr. Aach enjoys the variety of cases he sees and treats, from thyroid and parathyroid surgeries to abdominal procedures and hernias and everything in between.

Outside the office Dr. Aach enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter, and supporting them in their activities. In addition, he's been a long-distance runner for more than 35 years.
