Following a vasectomy procedure, the testicles continue to produce sperm, but the sperm is reabsorbed by the body. This procedure does not affect the function of the testicles, which continue to produce the male hormone testosterone. So, sexual function is not affected in any way.
Painless Vasectomy
Lincoln Surgical surgeons use the open technique done bilaterally for painless vasectomies. It's an outpatient procedure performed in an operating room under general anesthesia.
Lincoln Surgical's Vasectomy Procedure
Your surgeon will make a tiny incision on the upper outer part of the scrotum, just big enough to put a clamp in. The surgeon will then pull up the tube, which he will tie twice on the top part and twice on the bottom part. Next he will cut out a length of the tube between the two tied off sections, and put the two sections back in away from one another. Before suturing the incision, he will put an anesthetic into the scrotal area, which gives the patient very effective post-operative pain control. The surgeon will then close up the incision using an absorbable suture.
