Meet Briana Waldeck, FNP-BC, nurse practitioner.
When I was a child, I was diagnosed with leukemia, and I looked up to my doctors and my nurses, and I feel like I had very good care as a patient and as a child. And as a cancer patient, I feel like that really influenced me to go into medicine.
What are some of your responsibilities as a nurse practitioner?
I do pre-surgery exams, post-surgery exams, new patient exams, follow ups.
What do you enjoy most about working with breast health patients?
I think just getting to know them and knowing their personalities. You know even going through the hard things with them can be emotional, but it just brings you closer to your patient and you get to know them better.
What do you like to do outside of the office?
Cooking, shopping, antiquing, decorating, baking, spending time with my husband.
