Benign Breast Biopsy Results

A lump in the breast can be benign. Find out your next steps with Lincoln Surgical if you receive a benign result.

After telling your patient her biopsy is benign, what is the next step?

If the biopsy is benign, we then will typically have our patient come see us in the office within a couple of weeks to check the incision. And sometimes we will then arrange for a follow-up mammogram in a few months. Sometimes nothing else needs to be done except to refer the woman back to her primary physician with instructions to resume normal screening. But that's usually the end after a benign biopsy.
